Meet Brenda Diane (Bo) Jackson, an Inspection Specialist at our Valway Textile Plant. Zachary Culbertson, who nominated Bo for a feature, says, "Bo's commitment to excellence in her role is unparalleled. She ensures every product meets our high standards, knowing the importance of its performance in critical situations. "

Bo's Journey with Milliken

Bo began her career at Milliken on March 3, 1988, while still in high school. Reflecting on her start, she shared, "Well, I started in 1988 at Live Oak doing mini shifts. And as I graduated, I just went full time." Her 36-year career trajectory is a testament to her dedication and commitment to Milliken from the very beginning.

The Importance of Producing Vital Safety Products

As an Inspection Specialist, Bo understands the critical nature of her work in producing safety products. She explained, "This [airbag] is a product that has to perform 100% of the time if deployed." Bo's role involves ensuring that every product meets the stringent standards required for safety equipment, a responsibility she takes very seriously. We want everyone to have that peace of mind when driving down the road that if you're ever in a situation where your airbag needs to deploy, it will be defect free, and Bo ensures that every single day.

 

Celebrating Safety Milestones

Bo's dedication to safety is not just limited to the products she inspects but extends to her everyday work environment. Recently, she celebrated an impressive milestone of 412 safety days. Reflecting on this accomplishment, Bo shared, "It's about making sure everyone goes home the same way they came in. Safety is paramount, and reaching 412 safety days is a testament to everyone's commitment to a safe workplace."

When asked about the essential message she wants others to understand about manufacturing, Bo's advice was simple yet profound: "If you're doing the right thing, don't worry about the rest. Just stay focused on your task." This approach emphasizes the importance of diligence and integrity in every aspect of her work.
