Today, we shine a light on Kayce Parker, the Human Resource Specialist Lead at our Allen Chemical Plant, whose unwavering dedication to her role and community service sets a gold standard.

A Journey of Commitment

Kayce Parker’s journey with Milliken began with a recommendation from a colleague and friend, Lisa Ward, a Human Resource Manager at the Cedar Hill plant, who praised Milliken's family-like environment. “Lisa told me about how the plant environment is more like a family. Coming from Limestone University, that's what I was used to, and it made me excited about applying and coming on board with Milliken,” Kayce shares.

Having grown up in the area, Kayce was already familiar with Milliken's reputation. Her enthusiasm to join was further fueled by her friend's positive experiences, and she hasn't looked back since.

The People Behind the Success

Kayce’s role at the Allen Plant is multifaceted. She manages recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, event planning, charitable drives, and assists with benefits and HR database management. “My favorite part of the job is helping the associates and being the forefront for them. It’s satisfying to know I can help an associate in whatever they need,” Kayce explains.

Her daily interactions are a testament to her dedication to the people she works with. “I enjoy interacting with the associates and ensuring they have what they need to do their job well,” she adds.

Celebrating Milestones and Community Involvement

One of Kayce’s most cherished responsibilities is organizing events that foster a sense of community and appreciation among associates. “We have end-of-year celebrations with catered meals and gifts, and we honor milestone anniversaries with plant-wide meals and public recognition. Celebrating service anniversaries is my favorite because we highlight and appreciate all that associates do for us,” Kayce says.

Beyond her core responsibilities, Kayce's contributions extend into community service. She has volunteered with Meals on Wheels, led a food drive, and organized a Back-to-School Drive for local schools, demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact both inside and outside the plant.

A Culture of Growth and Safety

Kayce’s growth at Milliken is supported by her HR managers, past and present. “Danny Crawford, my current HR manager, involves me in as much as he can to help me grow and develop. Past managers have also been instrumental in my growth,” Kayce notes. This mentoring and support system has enabled her to aspire for bigger roles within Milliken.

Safety is a top priority for Kayce. “We prioritize safety at the forefront of everyone's mind. If something feels unsafe, we stop right then. Our primary goal is making sure our associates go home the same way they came,” she asserts.

A Rewarding Experience

Describing her experience at Milliken, Kayce says, “It's rewarding. I’ve been involved in HR audits across various sites and projects with the benefits group at RMC, helping me grow in areas I see myself in the future.” Her proactive approach and willingness to take on additional responsibilities epitomize her dedication.

A Family Atmosphere

Kayce values the family-like atmosphere at Milliken. “My sister works here, and I encouraged her to apply. We're all out to help one another and ensure everyone has what they need to do their job well,” she says. This sense of camaraderie and support is what makes Milliken special for her.
