OAKLAND AIRPORT
The Oakland International Airport partnered with Milliken and Hoem & Associates to update the flooring in Terminal 1, using Milliken’s durable Motionscape carpet, which is Cradle-to-Cradle certified and contains 41% recycled content. 50,000 square feet of old carpet were recycled through Circular Polymers. This collaboration showcases a commitment to sustainable design and circularity by minimizing landfill waste and ensuring the reuse of carpet materials.

La Poste du Louvre in Paris underwent a major transformation, led by Dominique Perrault. The design incorporated Milliken’s Tracing Landscapes and Crafted Series carpet collections, with biophilic and acoustic elements enhancing the workspaces. The project also earned multiple sustainability certifications, including LEED Gold and BREEAM, with Milliken’s eco-friendly materials contributing to the building’s environmental impact.

Deloitte's 1 New Street Square office in London combines environmental sustainability and employee wellbeing. At the time of certification, it was the largest WELL Certified™ Gold 'New and Existing Interiors' project in the world, achieving BREEAM Outstanding for its environmental design. The project featured Milliken’s Colour Compositions, Clerkenwell, Time Piece, and Dissident 2.0 collections, all carbon neutral and using at least 60% total recycled content.

The Australian Red Cross Headquarters in Adelaide highlights sustainability through environmentally conscious design. Key features include a 95kWp solar panel system, high-bay windows, and reduced roof sheeting to optimise natural light and reduce energy use. The project incorporates eco-friendly elements such as electric vehicle chargers, sensor-based utilities, and carbon offset Milliken carpet tiles. These initiatives align with the Red Cross’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint while fostering inclusivity and well-being.

The Sub Station No. 164 project in Sydney exemplifies sustainability through the adaptive reuse of two historic industrial buildings. Designed by fjcstudio, it integrates heritage elements with a seven-storey sculptural glass addition, achieving a 23% reduction in embodied carbon and operating on renewable electricity. Certified with multiple sustainability accolades, including a 6 Star Green Star rating and Platinum WELL v2 Pilot certification, the project prioritises reduced carbon footprints and occupant well-being. Features such as the Whale Song flooring collection enhance air quality, ergonomics, and acoustics, further aligning the development with sustainable and biophilic design principles.
