2023 Milliken Honors Healthcare Production Hero Award - Juan Pena

As a diversified manufacturer, making things is what we do. On production lines across the globe, more than 11,000 textile, specialty chemical, flooring, and healthcare innovations take shape to create a lasting impact. These innovations wouldn’t be possible without the skilled production associates who take charge of these lines.

The Milliken Honors Awards, therefore, would not be complete without recognizing the significant contributions of our production team associates. It’s hard to select just one associate from each of our four businesses , but each year, we attempt to do so. Juan Pena, a healthcare business associate at our Salisbury Plant, is one of our incredibly deserving Production Hero Award honorees this year.

As a member of Salisbury’s engineering services team, Juan stepped up to enhance the consistency of the lamination process. He tracked root causes that challenged quality and embraced operational excellence best practices to improve the work of the department. Drawing on his decision-making and analytic skills, Juan has helped operators take charge of the line so that the integrity of the process is upheld. He models the job done right and is a testament to going above and beyond.
