Countdown to Success - Less than a Year from Achieving Our 2025 Goals

Milliken & Company is known for many innovative solutions. From creating the technology that makes your clothes come out of the wash brighter to developing high performance, sustainable coating additives that make your paints dry faster, look better, and easier to clean, we make products that improve people’s lives for the better. But we don’t stop there – we aim to change the world for generations to come.

It’s no small task we’ve taken on ourselves. And it’s not one that is easily accomplished.  In 2019, we announced twelve near-term sustainability targets in three key categories that we aim to reach by 2025:

  • Reduce indexed water usage by 25%
  • Increase renewable energy use to 100,000 MWh/year

While you can check on the status of all our goals in our latest sustainability report, we’re proud to call out a few accomplishments we’ve achieved before our deadline. In 2022, we met and exceeded our goal to reduce greenhouse gas by 25%, and hit our renewable energy goal, reaching 100,298 MWh of renewable energy.

On October 30, 2023, we officially logged our 100,000th volunteer hour – one year ahead of schedule. By the end of our annual Volunteer Olympiad campaign on October 31, Milliken associates had logged 108,559 hours. We’re grateful to have colleagues that are dedicated to serving the community and recognize we couldn’t have done it without them.

We’re committed to transparency and recognize that we are facing challenges with some of our goals. Progress isn't always linear, but we're committed to dedicating time and resources to support our efforts. 

As we enter our final year on the countdown, we’re running full steam ahead, keeping our goals in mind as we think big. We look forward to an exciting year ahead, working towards our 2025 goals.
