Milliken celebrates first AMP graduates
Milliken's Aspire to Management Program prepares associates for career advancement
Auteur : Zachary Urban
Great leaders can come from anywhere in our company.
Six production associates have exemplified this by completing Milliken’s Aspire to Management Program (AMP), paving their way to careers in management.

AMP is a new yearlong course designed to equip production associates with essential management skills and prepare them for career advancement. The program covers leadership, communication, problem-solving, and project management. It has given these associates the tools and knowledge to lead and inspire their teams toward success.
For AMP graduates like Dewaine Washington, now an Advanced Process Improvement Professional, the program is more than a validation of his 29 years of hard work and dedication at the Cedar Hill plant.
“Milliken gives you the opportunity to move and grow in the company,” Dewaine said. “That was a big deal to me. I was always thinking that I would be at one level, but the opportunity came for me to further my career. It was awesome.”
After AMP’s initial success, seven plant associates are currently enrolled in the second wave.
“AMP has been a much-needed addition for Milliken,” Carmen Scism, Senior Talent Development Manager, said. “Our first group set the bar high, but I have no doubt our next group will be just as great, with a wonderful group of mentors to learn from.
