It's a Proud Day
Solving for Textile Industry Waste
Auteur : Liz Morris
Illustrated by our 2025 Product Goals and informed by our materials science expertise, at Milliken, we know that our sustainability strategy can and should prioritize sustainable innovations. And while we approach product R+D with sustainability in mind, we also recognize the value industry collaboration can bring to the table.
Last week, we solidified our commitment to being both a sustainability leader and partner with our investment in Circ, a company working to recycle fashion waste back into textiles.
"It's a proud day at Milliken as we announce our investment in Circ,” shared Chad McAllister, EVP and president of Milliken Textiles. “Our commitment to environmental excellence is something we practice every day in every corner of our organization. The Textile Business is incredibly excited to collaborate with the team at Circ to help solve the textile industry's waste challenges."
Circ completed its Series B fundraising round, which will assist the company in developing its revolutionary technology system that returns clothes to the raw materials from which they were made. The round was led by the Bill Gates-founded Breakthrough Energy Ventures (BEV) with additional investment from partners like the world’s largest fashion retailers Inditex, international investment group Lansdowne Partners, and Milliken. This group of leading investors illustrates the collective priority of accounting for circularity within the textile industry.
