“I thought that Milliken was a very good company, and when I had the chance to interview for an open position, I said yes. It was really impressive to visit Milliken’s global headquarters and see everything that went into it. I felt it was the right thing to join the Milliken team.”

Adriana González Volcán was working in the flooring industry when, 14 years ago, she joined Milliken. Drawing on an architecture background, she now positions Milliken’s flooring portfolio within the architecture industry in Mexico. She works alongside dealer partners and helps the industry assess the value and performance of Milliken flooring. “It’s an exciting job, and you never stop learning.”

She’s always learning in her professional life, and so too in her personal life. She has a passion for cooking that actually began later in life. “Well, after the Covid-19 pandemic began, I started cooking, which I never did before. I was very bad at cooking. But it was a necessity [then], and I found out I liked it.”

Mexican food, unsurprisingly, factors heavily in her cooking rotation. “That's what I ate with my mother, my grandmother. I would consider making a dish and think, ‘Oh, I remember when my mother did this.’ Then I’d start looking for her recipes.” Adriana finds the time to make these family meals alongside spending time with her 19-year-old son and scuba diving—and, of course, connecting with her customers and dealers on innovative flooring solutions.

Fourteen years on, Adriana knows she’ll receive the support she needs from Milliken. “If you ask for support, if you ask for more training, more preparation, you’ll get it. I think you can reach as far as you want to reach in Milliken. Milliken gives you all the tools, all the support, and I think it's one of the best companies to work for.”
