Milliken Assure™ is North America’s first non-PFAS, non-halogenated, flame-resistant moisture barrier for firefighter turnout gear. The fabric is UL certified and exceeds NFPA 1971-2018 requirements. More impressively, it has been tested and successfully passed a more stringent testing process for moisture barrier performance than what is required in the newly published NFPA 1970-2025 standard.

Milliken Assure™ is North America’s first non-PFAS, non-halogenated FR moisture barrier for firefighter turnout gear. The UL certified fabric exceeds the NFPA 1971-2018 requirements, a more stringent testing process for moisture barrier performance than what is required in the newly published NFPA 1970-2025 standard.
The product is Milliken’s first moisture barrier introduced to the market and was developed in response to market needs. Until now, fire departments across the country didn’t have a non-PFAS moisture barrier fabric that met the performance demands of the job. With Assure, departments can now source a non-PFAS moisture barrier that is lightweight, breathable, and has the heat, water and chemical resistance needed to successfully do their jobs.
As the middle layer of Milliken's innovative turnout gear fabric system, Assure™ provides excellent protection against chemical hazards. Milliken remains the first and only U.S.-based manufacturer to offer a non-PFAS fabric for every layer of a firefighter’s turnout gear. Fire departments and PPE committees can now choose fully non-PFAS turnout gear coats and pants without sacrificing the comfort, durability, performance and safety they depend on.
