Milliken has always been committed to the value of excellence, and much like any professional committed to their craft, we’ve invested in and refined our work to consistently produce superior results—until it becomes second nature to excel at a high level, create exceptional work, and produce quality outcomes. We formalized this commitment more than 25 years ago and developed the award-winning Milliken Performance System (MPS), which underpins our manufacturing process and supports our quality initiatives.

Striving for excellence is a never-ending quest, and the Milliken Honors MPS Results Award illustrates that sentiment each year. Using MPS methodologies, these award honorees go above and beyond to achieve measurable performance improvements—with their results impacting not only their immediate business but Milliken as a whole.

The MTZ Plant, based in Zhangjiagang, China, has diligently leveraged MPS as an operating system to achieve record-breaking plant results. A series of improvement projects, as well as an increased associate engagement track, has led to significant gains across the board. Intentionally prioritizing the MPS elements like focused improvement and daily team maintenance led MTZ Plant to achieve a full year with no recordable or lost time incidents, the lowest ever cost per square meter, and the lowest ever off-quality rate.
